Danielle Allen Calls On FERC To Block Grid Operator’s Pro-Gas Decision Discouraging Wind & Solar

Boston, MA — Gubernatorial candidate Danielle Allen issued the following statement urging FERC to block a recent decision favoring gas companies and discouraging renewable energy projects:

“Massachusetts communities are overwhelmingly united on the need to tackle the climate crisis — urgently. But community climate leadership is getting sabotaged at every turn by fossil fuel interests driving decisions behind closed doors. This week, in discouraging wind and solar projects from moving forward for at least another two years, our grid operator stood with gas companies and against every Massachusetts family who’s facing the effects of the climate crisis.

“We cannot afford to wait on climate. I’m calling on FERC to step in and stop this anti-climate, anti-community decision, and I’m urging all statewide candidates and community members across MA to join me.”
